Outreach Programs

BC Family Hearing Resource Society

Offers families living outside Metro Vancouver an opportunity to connect with sign language teachers, deaf and hard-of-hearing mentors, family support parents, and professionals who specialize in working with children who are deaf and hard-of-hearing. Services are provided in partnership with local community service providers.

Telehealth services are available for remote communities. Families are also welcome to visit the Surrey, Vancouver and Victoria centres to participate in available programs and activities.

Round Lake Alcohol and Drug Treatment Society

Offers a residential treatment program to help individuals with their recovery from substance use, including drug and alcohol. The program includes 24-hour staff support, individual treatment plans and assessment, educational workshops, Elder teachings and traditional ceremonies, recovery support groups, nutrition education, life-skills training, and recreational activities.

Provides residential treatment support for adults who have completed a full-recovery treatment program and need help to further strengthen their wellness and recovery.

Offers a four-month young men and six-month young women residential treatment program for youth with substance use issues. Participants live with family caregivers in the community who support and reinforce what the youth learn while they receive day, evening and weekend programming at a treatment centre.

The program includes individual and group counselling, harm reduction strategies, substance use awareness, parent-teen mediation, teacher-supervised education, recreational activities, and practical life-skills. Access is province-wide.

Offers information on the symptoms, triggers and risk factors of depression, as well as stories of success and where to find professional services. Also provides a self-check depression screening tool. Funding provided by the Movember Foundation and affiliated with the Men's Depression and Suicide Network.

Offers online group peer support for individuals living with persistent pain to meet regularly and build a community of support. Participants share their experiences, pain management and coping strategies, and take part in gentle movements.
