Family Support Services
Provides support to families of individuals with mental health and or substance use issues. Programs include in-person learning and information sessions, respite services, and parent support group.
Outpatient Withdrawal Management Services
Provides a range of medical and support services to help individuals to withdraw from and stabilize alcohol and or substance use. A team of nurses, physicians and community partners can support withdrawal and substance stabilization services at home and in the community on an outpatient basis.
First Nations Treatment Centres
Provides an online listing of First Nation treatment centres in BC available to Indigenous males, females, youth and families. Services vary per location; offers a variety of cultural and clinical interventions and support including family treatment, couples counselling and services for pregnant women.
Overdose Prevention and Response - Interior Health
Provides an online listing of Take Home Naloxone sites for the Interior Health Authority area, as well as overdose prevention information, resources and treatment services.

Provides emergency response to crisis calls related to mental health situations or crisis concerns in partnership with the Nanaimo RCMP and Island Health.
An RCMP member and a clinical nurse specializing in mental health, work together to help de-escalate situations, provide crisis intervention and connect people to community services and supports.
Co-Response Team
Provides emergency response to crisis calls related to mental health situations or crisis concerns in partnership with the Victoria Police Department and Island Health.
A police officer and a psychiatric nurse work together to help de-escalate situations, provide crisis intervention and connect people to community services and supports.
Virtual Addiction Medicine Clinic
Provides virtual rapid access to addiction medicine specialists to support people who need help with substance use including prescribing opioid agonist treatment and medical support in reducing cravings for alcohol.

Car 60

A plainclothes RCMP member and psychiatric nurse work together to help de-escalate situations, provide crisis intervention and connect people to community services and supports.
Access Central - Island Health
Provides same-day clinical assessment by an addiction doctor or nurse over the phone and connects people to substance use services in their geographic location. Options include virtual, bed-based, at home, or in the community services.
Access staff can also help clients access Opioid Agonist Therapy and anti-craving medications for alcohol.
Online Information and Resources
Provides online information, tools, and strategies to help young people and families find the mental health and substance use support they need. Offers apps, wellness tips, workbooks and self-check, web links, strategies for supporting others, and connections to services online and in the community.
Topic areas include anxiety, body image and eating, drugs and other substances, alcohol, low mood and depression, questioning reality, and stress.
