Crisis Line - Kelowna South Okanagan
Provides 24-hour telephone help for anyone in crisis. Trained volunteers provide emotional support, resources, referrals and crisis intervention. Crisis Line workers may refer callers to appropriate community or professional resources and if needed may intervene in life-threatening or emergency situations.
Prevention, Education, Advocacy, Counselling and Empowerment
Provides free, confidential counselling for children and youth who have witnessed and or experienced abuse, threats, violence in the home, or other relationship violence.
The program provides group and individual counselling for children, youth and caregivers, as well as community presentations, and school-based educational activities designed to prevent violence.
24-Hour Crisis Line - Northern BC
Provides free, confidential, 24-hour emotional support, suicide intervention and referral information to residents of Northern BC.
Youth Support Line - Northern BC
Provides free, confidential, 24-hour phone support for youth who may be facing some kind of difficulty in their lives.
Crisis workers offer non-judgmental support; listening and helping callers make their own decisions, and as well providing information for community resources such as social services, self-help and support groups, and emergency services.
Kootenay Boundary Regional Crisis Line
Provides 24-hour telephone help for anyone in crisis. A trained staff member or volunteer is available to listen, provide information, and support in an anonymous and confidential manner.
Program offers: suicide intervention, information about available services, and non-judgmental support during challenging times. Also takes gatekeeper calls regarding elder abuse and neglect.
Outreach Services
Provides free and confidential outreach visits to newcomer, migrant and immigrant women who are engaged in indoor sex work in the Lower Mainland area to distribute safer-sex supplies and information resources. Also connects women to healthcare providers and offers information about immigration, housing, law, employment, safety and health.
Here4Peers
Offers a mental health awareness program to high school students in the Delta school district. The program provides students with effective tools and healthy coping strategies for dealing with stress, and provides accurate information on accessing help for themselves, their peers or loved ones.
Cancer Patient Transportation Program
Provides round trip door-to-door transportation to patients throughout diagnosis, treatment and follow-up care for cancer. Pre-screened volunteer drivers pick up patients from their homes, wait while the patient is at the appointment, and then return the patient home immediately afterwards. A caregiver may accompany the patient.
School-Based Mental Health Outreach Program
Provides counselling programs for students and families experiencing stress at home, such as addictions, grief, mental health, stress, and anxiety, which affect the student's ability to manage at school. Families are referred by the school and services are offered in the school and or family home.
Therapeutic Counselling
Offers therapeutic counselling and life-skills support services to youth who are experiencing anxiety, depression, and substance use issues resulting from childhood trauma and abuse. Family counselling is also available.
