An RCMP member and a clinical nurse specializing in mental health, work together to help de-escalate situations, provide crisis intervention and connect people to community services and supports.

Breast Cancer and Health Services
Provides integrated breast health services throughout the Island Health region in partnership with the BC Cancer Agency, family doctors, specialists, and other community organizations.
Services include cancer care, mammography services, counselling and support programs, outpatient physiotherapy, and practical support.
Mental Health and Substance Use Service Link
Provides access to mental health and substance use services and resources for the Island Health region. The information line helps individuals find resources in their community, including mental health, harm reduction, drug-poisoning prevention, addiction medicine, withdrawal management, and treatment and recovery services.
Safe Needle Disposal
Provides needle disposal information, resources and awareness for the Island Health region, as well as the steps to safely dispose of needles. Sealed containers can be dropped off at a community drop box, participating pharmacy, or local public health unit.
Mental Health and Substance Use - Central Intake South Island
Provides a point of entry for all adult mental health and substance use services for the Island Health region. Services are provided in a variety of settings including community clinics, hospitals, specialized settings, and on an outreach basis.
Services include central intake, short-term assessment and treatment, long-term programs for those with a serious and persistent mental illness, as well as substance use prevention and treatment programs.
Integrated Mobile Crisis Response Team
Provides rapid, mobile, community-based response to children, youth and families who are experiencing immediate concerns related to mental health and substance use issues. The team includes professionals with backgrounds in nursing, law enforcement, child and youth care, social work, and psychology.
Areas of concern include acute depression, dementia, psychosis, mania, suicide risk, acute distress, post traumatic stress, severe anxiety, and aggression or behavioural problems with children.
