MindHealthBC
Provides an interactive website where British Columbians can learn about information and resources available to improve their mental well-being. Resources include online information, self-help programs and local in-person services. Individuals can also use the website to connect with resources on behalf of their friends and families.
Prince George AIDS Prevention Program
Provides street outreach and harm reduction supplies to members of the community in need. Program offers needle exchange, injection drug and crack cocaine use equipment, condoms and safer-sex items, access to testing and treatment, education, and referrals to other health agencies for drug detox, treatment or counselling.
Hope for Wellness Help Line
Offers immediate mental health counselling and crisis intervention to all Indigenous peoples across Canada. Experienced and culturally competent counsellors can help those who wish to talk, are distressed, in crisis, or having strong emotional reactions and or painful memories. Online chat is also available.
Healthy Choices Program
Provides school and community-based youth, staff and families in the Sea-to-Sky corridor with prevention-based educational programming. Sessions are age-appropriate and include topics such as mental health and wellness, substance use, self-harm and suicide, nutrition, gender and sexuality, sleep hygiene, and healthy relationships.
People Working Well
Offers mental health resources and free training for employers and employees in BC who work in the tourism, hospitality and community social services industry. Resources include a range of tools to help with workplace concerns such as supporting colleagues through crisis, neurodiversity in the workplace and managing change effectively.
You can register for webinars, sign up for training, or connect to a workplace psychological consultant who can guide an individual, team or organization through making changes.
Youth Health and Engagement
Offers a web-based resource and information centre designed to encourage individual youth wellness, and foster engagement in youth health policy and program availability in BC. Website includes access to Youth Advisory & Action Council, workshops, research and consultation and youth engagement resources.
Coaching for Health
Offers free telephone and video conferencing coaching to help people living with pain learn self-management skills, regain function, and improve their well-being. Trained volunteer coaches support patients for a 6 - 12 week period with sessions based on client needs and interests.
Depression and Anxiety Support
Offers individual and group counselling, stress management seminars, and workshops to help individuals, parents and couples heal from depression and anxiety. The centre promotes a holistic model of healing that addresses the whole person - body, mind, and spirit. Support groups are available in-person or online.
Overdose Prevention and Response - Island Health
Provides an online listing of overdose prevention service sites for the Island Health area, as well as overdose information and resources.
