Salal Sexual Violence Support Centre Society

Provides individual and group counselling to women, trans, non-binary, two-spirit, and gender diverse people who have experienced sexualized violence. Counsellors help support survivors to cope with the impacts of violence ranging from anger and grief to issues including sexuality, intimacy and trust.

Counselling may include safety planning, support circles, sexual assault counselling, art therapy, inclusion support, and counselling for Indigenous survivors rooted in Indigenous healing practices and traditions.

Powell Place Emergency Shelter for Women

The Bloom Group Community Services Society

Provides short-term emergency shelter to women in crisis living with the challenges of violence, abuse, poverty, mental illness and addiction.

Services include crisis intervention, 24-hour on-site staff support, meals, laundry services, housing assistance, harm reduction supplies, individual counselling, accompaniment to appointments, referrals and advocacy.

Family Preservation

Carrier Sekani Family Services

Offers early childhood development programs for families living on reserve. Support may be provided in the family's home, in the community, or at the office of a variety of other service providers.

Services include support groups, advocacy for legal or court process, life skills and parenting education, family events, support programs for school-aged children, and pre-natal to early childhood development support. The program aims to keep children and families together and increase the family's ability to safely care for and nurture their children.

Offers a free online course to help people get past insecurity and develop more compassion and kindness to increase their overall peace and joy. In the group sessions, participants learn how to overcome perfectionism, reduce anxiety and depression, improve relationships, and learn how to handle difficult emotions easier.

Looking Glass Foundation for Eating Disorders

Offers a peer support program that matches adults and older youth with a trained volunteer who provides compassionate, judgment-free support and listening during eating disorder recovery. Support is provided in-person or over video call.

The program supports individuals wherever they are in their unique recovery journey and, through the consistent and personalized support of a mentor, helps them to discover what they can achieve, as they are ready.

Victoria Eating Disorder Peer Support

Offers a weekly peer support group for adults with an eating disorder or who struggle with food, exercise or body image that affects their quality of life or interferes with day-to-day living.

Peer facilitators are not counsellors but individuals who are in various places of recovery themselves. The group currently meets virtually by zoom only; see website how to join a meeting.
