Provides a range of medical and support services to people withdrawing from substances like drugs or alcohol. Services include medical treatment, withdrawal and stabilization, recovery care, education and counselling, and alternate therapies offered in the hospital, community, or at home.
Withdrawal management is team-based care that includes nurses, doctors, social workers, acupuncturists, peers and Indigenous health staff, and other health-care workers.
