Mental Health Advocate

Canadian Mental Health Association - South Okanagan Similkameen Branch

Provides advocacy services to all people with mental illness and works towards improving their path to recovery and quality of life. Includes processes where the advocate will help the client navigate through the healthcare system, ensure they are getting the best treatment, and are satisfied with the encounters within the healthcare system.

Advocates also assist with exploring the best way to address situations and find resolutions when a person feels they have been treated unfairly or that their rights and entitlements have been ignored, or who disagree with how programs and services have been delivered.
