About
Provides individual and family consultation and psychiatric evaluation and treatment for youth up to18 years old.
This is a referral-based service for children and youth. Family physicians, pediatricians and mental health clinicians may make referrals to the Central Island Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Service. Find out more about the referral process.
Supporting youth and families living in Central Island communities to reduce significant emotional, behavioural, psychological and psychiatric symptoms and increase the mental health and functioning of youth at home, school and in their community.
Services include
Specialized services for children and youth who have:
- complex mood, anxiety and/or psychotic concerns, or
- complex neuro-developmental and associated psychiatric concerns.
Examples of those who may be referred are youth with complex challenges such as depression, bipolar, generalized anxiety, obsessive compulsive, panic, post-traumatic stress, psychosis or schizophrenia with or without concurrent ADHD, ASD, learning disabilities or other developmental impairments.
