About
Opioid agonist treatment (OAT) is often the first medical treatment a healthcare professional will prescribe for someone diagnosed with opioid use disorder.
Description
For people living with opioid use disorder, OAT can be an effective way to avoid the symptoms of opioid withdrawal and find a pathway to hope and healing.
There are clinics across B.C. If you are experiencing opioid use disorder, a doctor can help you decide what treatment is right for you and provide an OAT referral if appropriate. If you don't have a doctor, call 8-1-1 to speak to a health service navigator.
