Surrey Street Youth Services
Provides a telephone referral service for youth who are without a safe place to go and at considerable risk on the streets. Youth-specific information and referrals include counselling, health and education options, youth shelters, mental health and substance use services, and income assistance programs.
Mobile Harm Reduction Outreach
Provides harm reduction supplies including clean needles to groups, individuals and organizations throughout Langley, Aldergrove, Delta and White Rock. Outreach services also are provided through the Rig Riders peer-based mobile bike team in Surrey and Langley.
Outreach workers take the opportunity to teach clients safer harm reduction practices, overdose prevention, as well as provide referrals to health and substance use services and other social supports.
Medical Transportation
Arranges transportation for seniors to medical appointments outside of the Abbotsford area, within the lower Fraser Valley and Vancouver.
Crisis Line - East Kootenay
Provides 24-hour telephone help for anyone in crisis. A trained staff member or volunteer is available to listen, provide information, and support in an anonymous and confidential manner.
Program offers: suicide intervention, information about available services, and non-judgmental support during challenging times.
Homeless Outreach
Offers outreach services to help homeless individuals with accessing housing, a stable source of income, and other support services such as primary and mental health care. Workers also address immediate physical and safety needs such as food, warm clothing, and a place to stay. Services include life skills training, crisis intervention, and referrals to other programs and services as needed.
Interior Crisis Line Network
Provides 24-hour telephone help for anyone in crisis. A trained staff member or volunteer is available to listen, answer questions, and provide information and support in an anonymous and confidential manner.
Keeping Connected Caregiver Telephone Support
Offers telephone support to family, friends and caregivers providing palliative care to a loved one. Trained volunteers provide a compassionate presence and a listening ear. Through regular phone contacts, volunteers offer caregivers an opportunity to share experiences and feelings around providing care to their loved one.
Telecare Crisis and Caring Line
Provides telephone befriending, caring, and empathetic listening for people in moments of personal crisis or distress.
Intensive Case Management Team
Offers a variety of client-centered services to individuals who are at risk due to substance misuse, with or without mental health issues, with a focus on the homeless or those at risk of becoming homeless. The team works with clients where they are at physically - on the street, in shelters, or in their homes.
Services include housing support, substance use counselling and access to treatment, rent supplements, medical care assessment, life skills support and skill building, medication management, and referrals to community resources and income services.
Crisis Response, Community Led - New Westminster
Provides emergency response to crisis calls related to mental health situations or crisis concerns. Crisis responders may include a mental health professional and a peer worker with lived experience working together to provide in-person support to youth and adults in New Westminster.
A team of crisis responders are trained to help reduce distress, provide safety and support, help with referrals to other services and offer post-crisis follow-up.
